Spirituality meets University - Thomas Hübl at Uni Aachen

On 29th of November 2011, the debate on the evolution of consciousness moved into a German university, the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen. Prof. Dr. Christoph Schneider, dean of studies, of the Faculty of Georesources and Materials Engineering and an expert in physical geography and climatology, dared to take this leap by inviting Thomas Hübl and Dr. Kristina Jacoby to speak, thereby opening the issue of awareness up to teachers and students of the university and to any interested general public. This is an exciting move since the discourse at technical universities is generally of an exclusively scientific and rational nature.

The lecture and discussion was very well attended. The modern auditorium in the high-tech building "Super C" was filled to capacity with about 120 people.
Dr. Kristina Jacoby explained the different ways of dealing with natural resources, based on the awareness levels of Spiral Dynamics.
Then she presented possible reasons for the discrepancy between knowledge and action with the help of the integral model which is often discussed by science.

Thomas Hübl - as expert on inner-psychological processes - spoke about how we are able to cope better with the current global challenges with more interpersonal clarity and presence.
Following the presentations there were many questions on scientific findings in the research on meditation, and questions about the role of crises as an opportunity and a trigger of personal and collective changes in behavior.
The atmosphere was lively and sparkling!
Thomas said that interpersonal un-clarity is responsible whenever people feel more tired after meetings, events or conversations than before.
Here in this evening many people left the room more awake and excited than when they had entered.
A great success!
Open Evening in City-Church Aachen
Following the lecture at RWTH Aachen, an open evening with Thomas Hübl took place in the City Church at Aachen. More than one hundred people listened to the talk on "mysticism today".
They had to listen carefully since there was a strong echo in the church, making the acoustics quite difficult. Due to this, the audience had to move more closely together which led to a very cozy and intimate atmosphere.
A lively exchange on presence developed.
Once again Thomas illustrated clearly how a whole new quality can be created when spirituality is not practiced as a "hobby".
But rather when God is made the first priority in life, so that everything in life - relationships and career for instance - becomes an expression of a lived spirituality.
Particularly in this time of global challenge, Thomas’ radical vision is of such importance for a sustainable world.
