Prelude Event for the Center in Berlin

Around 100 people gathered on the 26th of September 2011 in the Gothic Hall in Berlin to hear about the founding of the Berlin InnerScience Center and to engage actively with this brand new project. The hosts were Silke Smida and Tina Jacoby, associates in this new non-profit organization (of limited liability). They were joined by a third associate: Stephan Breidenbach, and by the core team: Pascal Beaumart, Anjet Eich and Susanne Ahlendorf.

It was an exciting evening and resulted in a variety of moods! The main goal - the founding of the Center - is to create a place where spiritual practice is the primary focus, open to everyone. This is the central foundation for a conscious life. Through continuous practice, our entire lives can ‘become practice’! This was emphasised by Thomas Huebl himself at the beginning of the event.

Ideas for what will be offered at the Center were presented in some detail, followed by a presentation of where the project stands at the moment. Many of the questions arising shared a certain focus: a request for total transparency concerning decision-making and finance in particular. The organizers of the evening are very happy with such clear feedback and these requests will be given a high priority in the future.

The final part of the evening was devoted to the work-groups that will required to make the Center a reality. Those people present gathered in groups around topics such as finance, the premises, social media, technical equipment, renovation, a café space, an urban garden space, and began to put first ideas down on paper. The room was filled with an intense and stimulating atmosphere. The pioneering spirit in the collective design of the Center was very tangible.
